I am trying to find a grave number for the burial of John Munro who died June 10th 1939 and was buried in Latheron new cemetery, we have scoured the cemetery ourselves, but have been unable to find any memorial.
There is no entry on Graven Images for him.
Anyone help?.

John Munro age 65 "Mosspalm", Thurso Road, Wick was buried on 14/6/1939 in Latheron Extension 2 Lair No. 165. There is no headstone and he is the sole occupant of the lair.

Hope this helps

Thankyou Bill for your help, I am wondering how easy it will be to identify
lair 165, at some time we would like to erect a small memorial to John who
was my wife's great uncle, his parents and other siblings are buried in the old
part of the cemetery, lair 26. We have visited the cemetery each year for the last five, although we live in West Sussex it has become a bit of a pilgrimage
of pleasure. This year we are planning to try and trace information on John's
son Dr John Munro who was a chemist working for I.C.I. at Ardeer.

Thanks again, Munro

If you look at the Cemetery layout on Graven images site and find Grave No. 176 (Jane McLeod Forbes) that is actually lair No. 166 and lair 165 is on your left as you look at Jane Forbes headstone. You should find it OK

Thankyou Bill, we will be going up to Caithness sometime before October
and it will be as ever a pleasure to see Lorna Gunn and Colin Sutherland
at Landhallow and visit the family graves.
