I thought that some of you would be interested in this article I found. It is nice to know we have such selfless people in our community

Seven members of Trossachs SAR with three dogs, and two members of
> Caithness & Sutherland Search Team with one search dog travelled by ferry
> from Uig, Skye to Lochmaddy on North Uist last Friday in gale/storm force
> winds - and needless to say the crossing was rough.>
> We searched large expanses of moor land, loch side and seashore from
> Saturday through till Tuesday. The terrain was difficult - mostly peat
> bog, hundreds of small lochans, and seashore covered with piles of kelp
> each day that had to be covered by the dogs.
>> On the Sat and Sun we worked in gale force winds and heavy rain
> accompanied by 'horizontal razor hail'. However, it was nice to hear from
> the news and see in every paper that no searches were being carried out
> over the weekend - I know that several dozen members of the public, the
> family and CASST/TSART were out there working their hearts out. It proves
> you can't believe what you read in the papers. There's also a fair amount
> if misreporting of the circumstances n the papers and on TV. >
> Over the four days we also covered beaches and islands around Benbecula
> and North Uist.
>> After four hard days covering every bit of ground allocated to us and
> more, we took the decision to return home yesterday as the forecast for the
> next few days will undoubtedly mean the ferry will be off and we could be
> stuck there until after the weekend.
> Meanwhile the family and dozens of the community are still searching for
> him and our thoughts go out to them.
