Went to see a classical concert last night, given by The London Concertante, staking their claim 'as one of the finest chamber ensembles in Europe'. They truly were excellent and it was a very enjoyable evening. The majority of the audience were of the 'older generation' if I may say so, and just thought it a pity that for what ever reason this kind of concert does not appeal to younger people. I do realise that some children do learn musical instruments during their school years, but I just wondered how many go on to continue playing after they leave school. The next concert is on March 3rd, Marais Ensemble Wind Quartet with piano. If you see it advertised nearer the time, go along and give it a go, you never know, you may even enjoy it!
