The Highland Seal Hospital are having a Valentine's Dinner Dance at The Northern Sands Hotel,Dunnet on the 14th February at 7.30pm,so why not treat a loved one to a fantastic night? All proceeds will go to The Highland Seal Hospital and The Northern Sands have very generously given us the use of their hotel FREE! All details will be on the "whats on" section or you can PM me for details!
Go on have a good night and get "kudos" for helping out a fantastic cause! :Razz x

Cant say what I will be doing this year as Mrs Kodiak would read this and find out. But I will say this it will be something new and completely different and will be a first for both of us after 36 Years of Marriage.

If you are reading this Mrs Kodiak, I am not going to tell you either, :Razz

Sounds like a great night and raising money for a good cause makes it even better. After reading about Trinkie's honeymoon, I want to hear about her Valentine's Day celebrations.

I will be relaxing this year - I know I'm safe because it's not a Leap Year. Unless you know any good looking sea lions that is, Thumper! [lol]

Hope there is a good turn out for the Charity Event.

Don't get me started on valentines day, it's been commercialised by card and gift companies, you can say I love you any day, originally it was intended for the giving of 'love notes', how we got to this I'll never know. :confused

One billion cards worldwide seems a bit OTT, can't anybody think of the trees!

BTW good luck with your fundraiser Thumper, a worthy cause indeed. Have you any tickets left?

It's a damn good idea, instead of wasting money on cards and chocolate donate the cash to charity.

Thumper
19-Jan-09, 09:23
Thank you Julia! Yes there are tickets left, plenty to go around still so please pm me if you fancy coming along, the more the merrier and the more we will make! x

That menu looks rather interesting, Thumper. Is that a regular menu at the venue or something done specially for your charity night?

Due to the fact that on a Valentine's Day my departed wife and I were married we always celebrated by going out to dinner. My current wife and I were married on a January 31st and we celebrated by going out to dinner on that date. With Valentine's Day coming 2 weeks later after our anniversary, Valentine's Day has less meaning and we don't always celebrate it. The two dates are too close together.

Hi everyone, just letting you know that the dinner dance has been cancelled :( There just wasnt enough interest in it to justify going ahead.I would like to thank The Northern Sands Hotel for their very kind and generous offer of the hotel free of charge and also Dynamic Sounds Disco for their offer of a free disco, both offers were greatly appreciated but we feel that to go ahead with such small numbers of ticket sales would be unfair on both businesses. Thanks to everyone who did show an interest and booked tickets,so sorry that it will not now being going ahead x

Oh Thumps, that's such a shame. :( After all the hard work you've put into it, and folks' generosity in offering a free venue and disco. That's a big disappointment. :(

I'd have loved to have come if wasn't so far away -the menu looked just delish!

Thanks Angela,I must admit I am disappointed that it has had to be cancelled but there just wasnt enough tickets sold to warrant going ahead :( I am very grateful to the orgers who have shown an interest in the dinner dance and it would have been lovely to meet a few of them on the night!x
