Should try harder Afternoon Delight. There are technical explanations that the powers-that-be at Thurso High School and Highland Council Planners really need to take on board. Thing about technical explanations is that they are verifiable, not opinion, so organisations who make decisions such as Highland Council (Education and Planning in this instance) must make sure that the decisions they take are informed and substantiated. If they don't and an accident happens, Highland Council is liable, ie us.

I think it's more likely to be sabotage by some anti wind turbine campaigner than a UFO.

More likely to be Madpict with his boomerang!

I reckon it was the bird between the two turbines that did it.

The latest is that a "tentacle UFO" is to blame - whatever that is....

Sounds more like a lightning strike to me. Whatever the cause, the developer and BWEA are saying absolutely nothing, as usual.

I take your point about the proposed Thurso High School turbine, ywindy - its incidents like this which need to be taken into account to ensure children's safety. Should it go ahead, a good-sized and suitably fenced exclusion area needs to be set up around any such development.

Can do better than that - this is what did it

How scary is that? Or did someone have one too many?

Ho Hum I thought I had replied to this one already maybe I forgot to hit the submit button, Silly me.
Maybe The UFO thought that the turbine was the intelligent being on this planet and tried to comunicate with it. Got frustrated when it didnt respond and took it out of action.

But with all seriousness I wonder how fast and how far the broken bits flew. I am glad there are none within breaking distance of my house.
