Yes, I think it is well deserved that Mr Datta was awarded his MBE.
There are no doubt many local people from all walks who "give" so much and go unrecognised. Well done!

It is a long complicated process on the road to a Queen`s birthday honour with 18 months from nomination to award a mimimum timescale. The nominee too is worthy of praise as a lot of personal information is required and difficult to access without giving the game away, so to speak.

Well done to surgeon Pradip Datta on being recognised for his great work !!!!

He saved my brothers' life many years ago at Bignold Hospital, Wick. My brother was brought in to hospital, in the early hours of the morning with appendicitis and the doctor just said he would need an op. the following morning. My brother was in total agony and when Dr. Datta came on his rounds a matter of an hour later he said my brother needed an emergency appendectomy immediately!!. When said op. was finished it appeared that if Datta hadn't noticed the severity of the situation my brother would have been dead by the morning, as his appendix had actually burst and he was suffering from blood poisoning !!!!!

I'm eternally grateful to him - God Bless and CONGRATULATIONS !!!
