Today is the last day, after 26 years, that Carol Vorderman will do the letters and her sums on Countdown. Des O' Connor is also hanging up his dictionary.

Special tribute show on Channel 4 at 1455 to 1525 ...then Carol's last ever one at 1525. A specially invited audience of Countdown families, celebs and fans.

That show was certainly the making of her. Never been the same though since poor Richard Whiteley died.

She has has had lots of "looks" over the years, if you watch the first 1 min 32s of this clip you can see some of them; how hairstyles change??!

Great prog for keepin yer brain tickin over! Always thrilled if I can get a conundrum! (Good at the sums tho!) Have to say that CV did become a bit tedious tho! How about Richard Whiteley's Gotcha (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zD0VSJlKXEY)? [lol]
