Baillie windfarm is going to Public Local Inquiry which will take place sometime in the next 6 or 9 months.

A Pre Inquiry Meeting is being held in the Ross Institute, Halkirk at 7pm on Wednesday November 5th. This is a public meeting at which the Reporter will explain how the inquiry will be held and what will be discussed. And hopefully exactly when it will be held.

If you are interested in this potential development - no matter which side of the fence you sit on - please come along.

Many thanks

GNG

This is a public meeting, why have there not been any adverts for it in the local press?

Ask the Government's Reporter's Unit.

Conspiracy theory, anyone?

Annex A of the Code of Practice for Public Inquiries states that for Pre-Inquiry Meetings

16....pre-inquiry meetings may be advertsied in the press....(so not mandatory to advertse)

also

16....Meetings are open to the public....interested in the proceedings and by the press and the media.

It may not be mandatory to advertise but surely it would be the decent thing to do?

I agree but large numbers of the public turning out (as has been the case for previous Baillie windfarm public meetings) may give the Reporter and Scottish Government the view that people actually care about West Caithness - which rather goes against their drive to meet political targets for renewable energy........
