Are they around all winter?
Have not managed to see one yet so am keeping everything crossed for our trip north in a few weeks time.

There are still a few waxwings around with at least 8 in Thurso today and 15+ reported in Dunnet. Here's one from Thurso

Posted this a bit late but I spotted three Waxwings in Dunnet on 7/11/08 - they stayed till they had eaten all the berries!!

Sorry for the late reply just back on the net. There are still some around here, but they first appear in the NE then eat their was southwards and westwards. They say one of the best places to look for them is supermarket carparks as they like the bushes that surround the carparks. It must be some type with berries although I am not sure which ones.

Crackin photos there by Nettie too.

I think you mean cotoneaster bushes. They are often used around supermarket car parks, and birds just love the berries.
