Believe the ferry for here in the Western Isles - Isle of Lewis ferry was cancelled this afternoon and believed to be cancelled for next two days.

We had a few disruptions last week, two ferries even sailed out of Stornoway on Sunday and returned to Stornoway on Sunday afternoon too!!!

Hatches battened and everything put away - dont want to cross the Minch to collect everything.

Hope everyone is safe after this next episode of disruptive weather.

Yes Tony

One guest was scheduled to sail on lunchtime ferry on Friday (had been 3 guests but 2 flew to Glasgow, it was the only flights they could get off island as 2 had to continue working on Mainland) - managed to eventually get on ferry (which normally does not run - no ferries on Sundays here) with the vehicle, to the mainland on Sunday morning, had to be at ferry terminal 1hr 15 mins before sailing - not funny when sailing is 7.15am. It was cold, wet and windy, had to get up about 5am to be there to sit in your vehicle for about an hour until they allow you to go onto ferry. Very glad to see the ferry sailing out just after 7.15.

When the ferry does not sail our fresh food runs out very very quickly - not even a brussel sprout is to be found after a few hours of bad weather warnings.

Went hillwalking on Sunday and had to abandon the trek due to the really strong winds, and the fact we got turned into 'snowmen' during a heavy shower. We didn't expect it this early in the year, but we had to sense to give up and not soldier on and risk injury or death.
