Why no Scotrail train from Thurso 2day?

My inlaws were going to Glasgow 2 day...Sunday...12:25

But there was no train.

Anyone know why?? There seemed to be a lot of confusion and surfers.

They were transported to inverness on an ormlie bus with NO HEATING.

Can someone tell me what year it is again??

Maybe with all that wind we had there were leaves on the track? ;)

I just found this

Track improvements and maintenance are taking place from 00:01 on 26/10/08 to 23:59 on 26/10/08 between Helmsdale and Georgemas Junction.
18.00 Inverness to Wick to terminate at Helmsdale 20.36 Replacement bus service departs Helmsdale at 2045 calling at: Georgemas Jn 2142 and Thurso 2155 Replacement bus service departs Helmsdale at 2045 calling at: Wick 2140 Replacement bus service departs Helmsdale at 2054 calling at: Kildonan 2108 Kinbrace 2124 Forsinard 2124 and Thurso 2234 As a result some trains may be altered causing extended journey times. BUT it still does not account for no train or information at the station.

The thing is as well they booked tickets yesterday, you would think they would have been told about the maintenace.

they will reply within 7 days.

My brother-in-law was advised when they booked tickets at the thurso office that they have to travel by bus to helmsdale on Saturday due to maintenance on the line.
