a bandana for your dog? IN AID OF LABRADOODLE RESCUE (http://www.labradoodle-rescue.com/index.html) see Post No.#3

I'm thinking about making a few to sell as christmas presents - would you buy one for your pooch??

here's an example

I'm a maybe on this one  Cara wouldn't keep one on for 2 minutes, but I would possibly buy one as a present for my mates dog, who I think would look quite dandy in a bandana, like your dog does, and is such a lump would leave it on too

cheers Carasmam!

I'm wanting to sell them to raise funds for Labradoodle Rescue. its a charity thats been formed by labradoodle owners to help rehome all the labradoodles that have been sold to families with allergies as non-casting, allergy friendly dogs and then once their coats start to change owners find out that there are problems.

Labradoodles cannot be guaranteed not to shed or be allergy friendly and more and more of them are being put up for rehoming because they are placed in unsuitable homes. Labradoodle Rescue are aiming to rehome all dogs they are contacted about and therefore in need of funds.

think this is a fun easy way of helping

What a good cause, good for you. It's a shame people are having to part with their dogs, allergies are horrible and doodles were advertised as the answer to all their problems too :(

My dog has one already, pink camouflage it is! I bought doggy material to make some more but never got round to it. Good idea, go for it!

thought I could do some christmassy ones and some snazzy ones that could be used at any time.

I've sent off for material so will post some photos once I've got them made up.

Reckon I would be selling them for about £4 for a double sided one (plain one side, pattern other)

max had one on his collar a while ago, and must say it looked smart, but that is as far as dressing my dog i would go.Drangonfly, if you do decide to go ahead and make some let me know cause i would love to get him another one.

'Course I would buy one. Trouble is, the skinny dog is only into designer labels!!

As he is stripey I would need something to co-ordinate so if you can do plain black, brown or beige them I am so up for one of them.

Dragonfly, not sure if you live locally, but would it be helpful if we could donate material for your bandana making? If you want to arrange a drop off point (say a friendly shop owner) that we could use then it may help to keep costs down.

If you specify what materials would suit (cotton, I presume) and what minimum size (for one side) then I'm sure many of us could help....:)

what a nice offer Torvaig! out 2 metres of material (1m plain, 1m patterned) I have estimated I can make 8 bandana's for med-large sized dogs - ebay is a great place for picking up cheap off cuts. not sure if demand will be high so will carry on as is for now but thanks again

Although I have always sworn to not humanise my dog, I can see the attraction of these bandanas. They are cute but I will try to resist.

I can just see his face if I put one round his neck. "Do you really think I am going to wear this? Don't you know I have to eat everything alien to me and that I will hardly stand to get towelled dry let alone wear anything that makes me look like a spiv? Ermm....what colours do they come in?" ;)

Good luck to you Dragonfly; hope you sell oodles.....:)

I still have our old black lab's red bandana even though she's long gone. She wore it a lot. What is it with Kenny Rogers and black labs with bandanas.?

Good luck with your great idea. I'd get one but currently have a spaniel. Spaniels don't do bandanas.

Dragonfly,
Carolyne from Lab Rescue said to wish you good luck and to tell you they sell bandanas as a fundraiser and they do really well. Seems like you're onto a winner judging by these posts.

Labrador rescue were selling these in Bower when they had their big fundraiser not that long ago. The two labs that had them on to show them off did look great in them.
