A recent thread on here had a reference to the Spindrift. It is in the short film about Wick Radio. I am sure I have seen photographs of the Spindrift in the thread about the old Wick photographs in the Photography section. If not Im sure you will get something from the Heritage Centre.

The Spindrift was WK177 and there is a film of it in the Scottish Screen Archives if you wanted to investigate further. Was based in Wick I think.

HI, I remember the Spindrift in Wick when I was a young lad, I think she was sold around the mid seventies, don't know where to though. Here are a couple of links to some pictures on the trawler photos website. You can also search the picture gallery on this site, you may find some more.

Hi sorry I mislead you there as the site should have read:-
www.shipsnostalgia.com (http://www.shipsnostalgia.com)

I have just checked the site and you should find what you are looking for under the category - gallery's and then fishing vessels and you will find the Spindrift - happy hunting.

If by any chance you cannot get into through this link just do a Google search for it.

One of the pics on ether Ships Nostalgia or Trawler Photos has Don Miller in it ( not close up) Also photos of what the boat looks like now converted to a pleasure boat which is a shame. Bit of a pity she was not preserved as she was as she was of the Zulo type boat and there is not many of them left now. There used to be a model of her in the Wick Heritage Centre most likely still there.

No problem plumber, there are quite a few pics of the old Wick boats under the vintage section.

I remember the Morning Star, did a few trips on her when I was just a youngster, Donald plowman was skipper at the time.

Brandy the Spindrift was originally called the Rose her details are below
INS 329 ROSE Tonnage 21.38 built of wood in 1933 by Wood of Lossiemouth She had a Gardner engine and was built for A Mitchell of Lossiemouth. She was bought to Wick by the Miller family and John Duncan fishsalesmen in the early
1950s She was what is termed a motorised Zulu in design. In other words her design was orginally used for sailing vessels with the angled sternpost and then adapted for motorised use ;-))
All best

Macdonalds the photographers in shore lane have an excellent photo of the spindrift in the outer harbour that they will copy and sell if you want.
