I've been trying all month to get to this beach when the seals are out of the water.
It means getting there before any dog walkers and when the tide is High.
Today my luck was in although the light was poor i managed to get 1/125 at f5 300m ISO 400.
This gathering of Grey Seals occurs during September and October every year.
This year looks like 150- 200 seals on the beach or in the surf.

As always fantastic seal photos, I bet no person in the North of Scotland has as many seal photos as you, yet I never tire of them.;)

Hi,

my mate Joanne Sim - from Thurso but stays down here in Edinburgh with me is currently running a "look out for seals" campaign (http://www.lookoutforseals.org (http://www.lookoutforseals.org/)) for the place she works called Advocates for Animals. Thousands of seals are shot in Scottish waters every year. Advocates for Animals is campaigning to end this killing, by ensuring that seals are given full legal protection in the forthcoming Marine Bill for Scotland.

see the following link - http://advocatesforanimals.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=506&Itemid=671

They also have a facebook page where you can support the campaign here - http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=32744537675&ref=nf
