This took much courage as I'm scared witless of these things hence why I just couldn't wait for it to turn around. Would have made a better picture but I'm afraid I'd have legged it anyway!
Nice photo of a female white tailed bumblebee Porshiepoo. The partly hidden one looks like it might be a male white tailed. Here's a photo I took of a male white tailed this summer...

You don't have to be too wary of bumblebees - they're pretty friendly critters and fascinating too. Did you know that:
Female bumblebees can sting - but they hardly ever do (not like wasps!)
Bumblebees have stinky feet! If a flower smells a bit cheesy, the bee knows that there wont be any nectar left as a bumblebee has fed there recently - clever or what?!
