Well done Academy, I passed shoeshine about 3.30am & they were delighted with the result as was my husband. He said they have Edinburgh City in the next round !! That seems a hard one but hopefully they win again & bring some much needed glamour to the Harmsworth.
How good would it be to get into the 3rd round with the big boys?:D Celtic at home would be fantastic

the spl teams enter in the 4th round so 2 more rounds to go through for that to happen

Would you care if the Academy were hosts to one of the top 5 in Scotland? Celtic Hearts Hibs Kilmarnock or Rangers would be great for the town & a wee bit of excitement for everyone connected with the club

well you did miss out aberdeen, dundee utd ect in your top 5 clubs - i wouldnt even mind a div 3 side come up here but really its not going to be easy to go through edinburgh city - considering they did beat nairn in the 1st round 2-0 to come up against academy. so wont be getting any hopes up of that happening just yet..

i dare say aberdeen are a bigger club than any other club in scotland a[art from the OF, plus they have a big caithness fanbase so they would be a brilliant draw, wont happen as academy wont get past edinburgh city who are a strong side :~(

I am sure Edinburgh City play at The Commonwealth stadium, Meadowbank just along the road from me. Former home on Meadowbank Thistle, now known as Livingston FC.

see this map - http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=commonwealth+stadium&sll=55.955591,-3.156617&sspn=0.008373,0.019226&ie=UTF8&ll=55.955988,-3.156617&spn=0.008661,0.019226&z=16&iwloc=A

edinburgh city were fortunate to beat nairn at the weekend and from what i've been told they are not that great a team and that academy have a good chance if they play to their best

One of the Academy boys has played Edinburgh City when he played for Edinburgh Uni and he says they are not a bad side but they are beatable. Academy can be unpredictable though so they need to screw the nut and make sure they get a result...

I missed abahdeen out on purpose;) after all in the 80`s they were the best team in Europe but rarely sold out all their games, Hearts & Hibs are better supported , Im afraid . I forgot about Dundee but then doesnt that say it all?

Im allowed to dream about Academy doing well in the cup surely?:confused

see below from BBC Scotland website

Minnows book third round places

Three Highland League clubs, East of Scotland outfit Dalbeattie Star and juniors Lochee United moved into the third round of the Scottish Cup.
East Super League champions Lochee swept aside Highland outfit Buckie Thistle, who ended with nine men, 3-0.
Dalbeattie hammered East of Scotland rivals Selkirk 6-0 in front of 90 fans.
Clachnacuddin beat South champions Crichton 1-0, Cove Rangers beat East side Whitehill 1-0 and Inverurie Locos hammered North juniors Banks O'Dee 5-1.
Another Highland League outfit, Wick Academy, earned a home replay with a 0-0 draw away to East of Scotland outfit Edinburgh City.
Highland outfits Forres Mechanics and Keith also must face each other again after a 1-1 draw, with the latter now having home advantage.
East of Scotland pair Civil Service Strollers and Vale of Leithen are still to play after their match was postponed on Saturday following a waterlogged pitch.
Third Division newcomers Annan Athletic also had their home tie against former East rivals Spartans called off.
There were no surprises in matches involving Scottish Football League clubs.
Albion Rovers, Dumbarton, Elgin City, Forfar Athletic, Montrose and Stenhousemuir all booked their places in Monday's draw.
East Stirlingshire host East side Preston Athletic on Sunday.

wick academy grab draw in edinburgh but in reality should have won the won the game, it was played in terrible conditions with driving wind and rain, we played some really good football playing into the wind in the 2nd half and this was when we created our best chances, our goalkeeper had only one save to make
