Barn Owl

I saw a barn owl near Dounreay last night about 1am.
This is the second sighting I've had in 3 years.

Have heard them not too far from where you live Rheghead but never seen one yet.
I love barn owls, the farm where I was brought up had a breedeing pair and their screeches,skritching at night was like the wail of the banshee!

Lucky you, Rheghead - I have yet to see one of these wee beauties with my own eyes, although MrBurd tells me he spots them frequently on his travels to and from nightshift on the otherside of the county.

I live out at John O' Groats and there are quite a few barn owls over this way !!
