this thread set me thinking .i lived in an age when communication was
either by semaphore or morse code
wonder how many could read it today or send it tony [lol]

I understand how both work but never needed to learn either. The telephone negated the need for myself and millions of others to learn morse code.

Couldnt do either but I can still speak CB lingo if thats any help good buddy! :)

I learnt semaphore by watching Monty Pythons version of 'Wuthering Heights' in semaphore.

Unfortunately all I can send is "Oh Heathcliffe" and "Cathy!"

if you were in danger of being blown up you could hardly wait until they invented the telephone tony
