I dont seem able to add smilies to any of my posts. I can get one to appear in the heading but none to appear anywhere in my text.
Do I need to enable them or what?

Sounds like your editor is set to the basic settings.

and at the bottom there is a Miscellaneous Options section. In there there is a drop down box which you can change to Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIYWIG Editing. the click on save changes. Hope that helps
