Shrike

My hubby is working off the English coast nearby Middlesborough on a survey ship and whilst on deck noticed a bird fly by with a moth in its mouth which sat on railings of ship close by him. Though only for a second - my OH, whos a very keen bird-watcher, recogonised it as a shrike !

Only ever spotted one once they are a special bird, does the OH have a camera that would could have some pictures?

No he didn't take his camera with him on this trip !! After I originally posted his ship was anchored off the Middlesborough docks and he saw the (same??) shrike again a couple of times on or near the boat! Must have hitched a ride eh?

Yes Twiglet, he was absolutely delighted too !!
