how do get an avatar, or is it only trusted members who are allowed them? I cant seem to figure out how to apply one...?

Yes, only trusted members can have avatars, at the moment.

To become a trusted member, you need to have have been a member for 6 months and have made 100 posts (I think it used to be 150 posts and reduced; I may be wrong).

So you're not far off, spiggie, but don't go making nonsense posts to reach 100! :D

I asked Niall about this yesterday as I've been registered nearly 5 years but haven't posted enough - you're right, it's 100 (so that's 6 to go for me now :D ) How nice to be trusted - can't wait.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avatar but in the case of the interwebnetland it is a small graphical image selected by a user to identify themselves.
