Looking for some imformation from former UKAEA tenents about were they given the Right to buy before the houses were sold off ?

Hi Dozy,

Don't know if this applied right up to the time that Pentland Housing Association was formed but we certainly had the right to buy and did about 3/4 years before the housing stock was sold.

It was my understanding that everyone at that time had the right to buy and this was the case until the housing stock was sold.

I am fairly sure that the right to buy your UKAEA house continured (dependant on years in accomodation) right up to Pentland Housing buying the housing stock.

It certainly continued after Pentland Housing bought them over. There was also an incentive (around 1995/1996) for those renting a Pentland Housing property to purchase privately and receive a grant of £10K - very handy as a deposit!
