OH bought me a couple of landscape photography books for my birthday last week and one thing that made me think was the statement that there's no such thing as bad light, there's just the wrong light for the kind of picture you're trying to take, so be creative and switch to something else.
So as I was sitting on the west side of Strathy Point yesterday afternoon, sea-watching (didn't see a thing!) and silently cursing the cloud cover, I remembered that bit of advice and tried to think differently:
