Olympic Party!!

I've probably got a real cheek starting this thread as I've hardly watched any of the Olympics over the past weeks.
I can't understand why there has to be a big party today - dragging the "hero of the day" back before what promises to be a fantastic finale! He should have been able to enjoy a fitting end to the trip of a lifetime and then come back with the British team and have a Welcome Home/Let's get hyped up for the 2012 Olympics Party, tomorrow. As well as saving on the entertainment, I'm sure big savings on the pop and sandwiches could be made too especially in this current climate of cutback and recession.
Anyway, I'm glad everyone had a great time, but thank goodness it's over!!

Whose the hero of the day? he is carrying the flag at the closing ceremony, the party is London is to celebrate the Olympic City status.

Naw, I meant Michael Phelps, who won the most Gold medals.
Now, having seen the closing ceremony I can only imagine he's gutted to be here, listening to a rock concert when he could have taken part in such a spectacular show. Even Boris was there, waving the Olympic flag.
