Why can't I download any of the photos on the front page? When I click on a thumbnail, the next page is blank and Norton antivirus says it has foiled an attempt to hack into the computer. This has been going on for a few days now. Is it just me or is anyone else having this problem?

Simple Solution:

Uninstall Norton AntiVirus/Security and get some proper software

AVG Antivirus
http://free.grisoft.com/
.
Mozilla Firefox (Browser)
http://www.mozilla.com/
.
Sygate Personal Firewall
http://www.simtel.com/product.php?id=53687Once you've installed AVG, do a full virus scan to remove all the nasties that Norton didnt see.

I've just noticed that Sygate has been taken over by Symantec, so if anyone has any other free Firewalls that they would recommend I'd love to try them before SPF is dropped or integrated into a Norton product.

Niall,
Zone alarm is the best one, i run that in conjunction with AVG, spybot, adaware and ewido :)

I've always managed to avoid Zone Alarm, would be interested to hear of any problems there may be with the latest version.

Most of my firewall needs are taken care of by my router, I just blocked everything and open ports as required.

Er.....what's wrong with Norton? I used to have AVG on the old computer but have been pleased with the Norton that came with then new machine....so far.....
Can you please tell me more as I am now unsure whether or not to buy Norton when the trial runs out at the end of Jan 2006.
I'd be grateful for more info on this.......
Thanks for replying.....

Used to use Norton as we had free home use thru work . Work then changed supplier and I purchased McAfee firewall and anti virus. The mcAfee went on and I nearly had a fit the number of viruses I had that Norton either missed or just ignored.

When I mentioned this to our IT man he just laughed and said why do you think we have changed!!!
