Excellent pic but I wouldn't fancy crossing the Atlantic in it.

I agree, I would need to see land at all times. It looks like duct tape may be holding it together in some spots.

I would imagine that, as a near fifty-year old, this grand lady who was subject to the intimate attentions of young Frenchmen in her youth, would be permitted a little bit of 'nip'n'duct' to try and maintain her illusion of youth and elegance. :^)
She certainly attracted the attention of many enthusiasts at Duxford a few years back.

Excellent picture, btw.

I did wonder if this was going to be stopping at Wick. It flew over my house on the way north and glad to see that EGPC was on her exotic places to visit list...(Wick seems to be getting a nice variety of veteran aircraft showing up recently).

I'm not sure but I think this was one of 3 Skyraiders that all attended the same airshow at Duxford a few years ago. It was quite a sight (and sound) to see these rather large ladies tailchasing each other around the airfield. She may be looking in need of a bit of spit and polish but I don't think duct tape is holding any parts of her together (if the vertical silver strip below the cockpit is what is being referred to?)

Useless fact #3 - Duct tape is often referred to as 200mph/1000mph tape - 200mph tape from the racing circuits use of it on repairs to racing cars and 1000mph tape from the US Navy use on repairs to the radomes of fighter aircraft...

The RN refer to this wonderful materiel as "Pussers' Maskers", luvverly black stuff it is. Most of the Fleet is held together with it..........
