Following on from the "what made you happy..." thread.

So, myself and Mr elaine (Grantyg) are off work and decide that we will go and see the new Batman film at the IMAX, after hearing that some of it was filmed using Imax cameras.
We checked the times, got the directions and I was dead excited to see it!

Day 1:

We slept in.

Day 2:

We left with about 40 mins to spare (from Cumbernauld)
The M8 was solid (at Midday!?!) and the directions took us a crazy long way.
We arrived 10 mins late and could not even find the front door to the place!
Found the door and saw the massive queue and decide that we've missed it.
Crestfallen, we return to the car and discover that we had to pay £3 to get out of the car park.
Then get monumentally lost in the south side of Glasgow and curse not having Betty (the satnav) with us.
On the way home we drop in for some pub grub and I find a big, long hair in my pizza. Grrrr.

Day 3:

G checks the internet for availabilty and it's a GO GO GO!!
This time we leave with an hour and a half to spare.
Betty takes us a quick route and we are there in plenty of time.
Just as we enter the car park we notice the "Batman The Dark Knight - SOLD OUT" poster.
We cannot reverse as there is a line of cars behind us.
A large stormy cloud forms over Gs head as he realises that we are yet again gonna have to pay £3 to get out of the car park.
He goes to complain and gets a free car park token but he was. not. happy.
I cheerfully suggest that we head into town and check out what else is on at the cinema.
Eventually, we get to Cineworld and see the queue coming out and along the street.
We stand and wait until we reach the foyer and discover that all the films are MINCE.
We end up in a pub again, pondering the amount of time we have wasted.
Anxious not to waste another day I ask G if he would accompany me to MFI (I know, pushing it!) to look for tv cabinets as we have tried everywhere alse. Surprisingly, he agreed and off we went to Stirling.

MFI don't do living room furniture. aw naw.

Day 4:

G said "no"

So yeah, now I'm mad. With the IMAX, with the M8, with the south side, with MFI and especially with Batman, the flamin' Dark, soddin' Knight.

I hope it's worth it, if I ever manage to see it!

Having seen the movie now I was disappointed because the performance of Heath Ledger was not as brilliant as the critics made out. Jack Nicolson's performance in that role was vastly superior In my humble opinion.
What made me sad today was the constant downpour that we had to put up with.

That is poor luck! I thought he was really good in the film though.
anyways, my pivved off moment this week came from a customer at work.
She decided she wanted to try contact lenses, so she booked in for an appointment. all ok, we had a free slot then to do the teach appointment to learn to take them in and out.
all went well, at the end of the HOUR long appointment (plus 25 mins for the fitting) she declares she dosnt have any money for the appointment, she thought she go t it free (she gets money off spex and lenses but not free cl appointments)
right ok, she can pay when she comes back for the follow up next week. Nope, she is getting deported on Thursday (this was Tuesday)
She barley spoke English and clearly had NO intention of coming back to us, wasting our time. It made me so so angry!

For months our street's been dug up, over and over, by Scottish Gas. The work was meant to be finished by May, but they're still at it. With a very busy junction at the foot of the street, bus stops have been moved, there's a contraflow in operation and the pedestrian crossings are out of action.

Once the gas was finished, Scottish Water had planned to start replacing the old mains pipes. With the gas works being so behind, there was an agreement that the two companies could work together to get the street back to normal as soon as possible.

We should have had our new mains water on Wednesday. Sadly this just hasn't happened. The two companies have proved unable to work together, a gas worker managed to cut through a mains water pipe, and a water guy was hit by a car because the traffic is so chaotic. Scottish Water have now stopped work and will come back and dig the street up again at some unspecified date.

Seeing two gas workers sitting in their diggers doing nothing, surrounded by EIGHT other men watching them doing nothing, made me very cross![evil]

We went sailing over the weekend came back sunday evening, when we left the internet was working fine, nobody else in the house. Went to check mails after weekend NO INTERNET. It was showing 'a far end error' whatever that was! Now according to our supplier they deal by e mail hahahaha what a joke no internet no e mail. So my man waits till he gets to his office and fires off a mail first thing Monday.............. Tuesday no reply. Meanwhile he has done some searching via internet at his work trying to understand the error message. He tries phoning them but in a queue for ages and when finally gets through [evil] you have to call from home number !!!!

He calls from home later that night, no reply .. by now he is flaming. Finally Wednesday evening he gets through, bit of re setting router as they have up the bandwidth and hey presto it works !!!

I flew down to Bristol on the 23rd and hired a car for one week.
I was given the option of buying a tank of fuel at a discount price or bringing the car back full. I chose the latter
I was pleased when I picked the car up as it was new with only 8 miles on the clock.
It was not untill I left the airport that I noticed the car was only 3/4 full of petrol however I did have my camera with me and was able to pull over at a shop 2 miles from the airport and take a photo of the cars intrument panel which showed clearly the milage and the fuel gauge at 3/4.
I typed a letter and inserted the picture of the instrument panel and the cars location and pointed out that this was not the first time I had been shafted by this company.
When I returned the car and explained to the young man that it was only 3/4 full as when I collected it he said "they would fill it up and charge it to my credit card". When I produced the letter stating that I would take the matter fuether he just said "ok" in a very matter of fact sort of way with no apoligy.
I was just so angry that I had to go to so much trouble for about £12 worth of fuel but if they do that to all customers with fuel being the price it is ,how much are they stealing per day?

officials! [evil] got a call at start of week regarding an appointment i was to attend, but i didnt receive an appontment or i would have been there.
"okay" said the official "i'll send you out another"
"okay" i said
this morning i got the appontment,uh uh ! it's clashes with a more important appointment at hospital.
now it states in letter if you can't make apponintment just call,so i did and was told quite curtly that i would have to attend and they wouldn't make another as i didn't show at last!
"but i didn't receive last one" i said
that didn't matter in their eyes
where do these people get off,do they treat all members of public in this way,i wasn't lying, have no reason to lie to anyone and certainly not in this matter.
some public employees(gov officials )realy do get my goat particulrly when they are just that- public employees!

oh and the weirdo who blatantly took a photo of my wife!

That is an absolute disgrace, I hope the wee dog has a good recovery and the owner can get over the fright. There are people who should not be allowed animals. Animal ownership is far too easy.

I ordered a wardrobe package which they have charged me for (littlewoods) it included 2 chest of drawers and a wardrobe with 2 bedside tables. I have paid for the items and recieved 1 bedside table and 1 chest of drawers which said the rest would follow soon. Today I got a letter saying they had run out of the other items and would refund me the extra money involved but now i have 2 pieces of furniture put up and can''t find anything to match!! not happy!!

My 2nd rant was that I had a flat tyre and pulled over to pump it up. Deciding it was safe to drive home at about 50 miles an hour near latheron Off i went and several minutes later hear a car screeching up behind me must have been doing at least 80/90mph. He was going at such speed even though it was a straight bit of road he didn't have time to stop behind me so luckily he managed to swerve without anything coming but decided to put on his horn and wave his fingers at me the whole way past!!! If he had have been doing even 70 he would have had plenty of time to react I was not going too slow and was very visable. Gave me a fright with the noise !! even my partner in the lay by well back from me was waving him to slow down and he was just flying up towards me!

Some new allotment people round where I have my plot cleared all the rubbish and left it in a big heap on the car park. I rang the council and offered my help to these people to take it to the dump. They subsequently 'phoned me and we arranged to meet yesterday at 3.00pm.

I got there at 2.30 and waited 'til 3.30 - it was a no-shower. That really peaved me - I hope they weren't expecting me to do the job all on my own!

"Travelodge" ................... Whilst I think their cheap rooms are good value for money I had expected that the bookings we had made in the spring for the summer might have been partly refunded as we unable to get to use them due to the fuel crisis.

I phoned to the Stirling one to be told by the receptionist "That`s brilliant news for us you can`t get here as I have a disabled couple stranded and I can now let them have your room. Write to head office and explain and you will at least get vouchers towards another booking." I did as she asked and have had a reply saying no way will they consider any refund. I phoned and spoke to two different people about the room being relet (at the full nightly rate) and that I felt it was a case of double standards, but got nowhere. Can`t say I won`t use them again to punish them as we have other cheap rooms booked for later in the year.

To add insult to injury the last lady on the phone finished with "Enjoy the rest of your day!!!"

I was out on Friday 18th July when Royal Mail tried to deliver two packages from Amazon. The next day, Saturday 19th, I got a card through my door about it and telling me to arrange redelivery. There's no way I can get to the depot, so I got onto the RM website and rearranged delivery for the first available date, Tuesday 22nd -at my local PO.

Well, you probably won't be surprised to hear that though I called in every day at the PO, no packages appeared for me to collect. So on Monday 28th, I emailed RM (they don't seem to ever answer the phone) asking what had happened. The next day, Tuesday 29th, I got a reply from Customer Services saying they would aim to address my 'issue' within 5 working days....

By this time I was raging and trying not to take it out on my very nice PO man -it wasn't his fault. But on Wednedsay 30th, I was in the PO on my fruitless daily mission, when the RM van driver came in. We got talking about my missing packages, he asked where I lived, and said he would look for them at the depot, and take them to my local PO -or if he couldn't find them, he'd let me know.

This bit shouldn't be on the 'mad' thread but the 'happy' one! since this very helpful man found my packages and brought them to my local PO the following day -Thursday 30th. A whole 13 days since RM first tried to deliver them. Seems as if nobody ever actioned my redelivery request and the packages were just left lying around.:(

Meantime however.....! that same day, Thursday, I got a reply to my email, saying RM customer services were sorry it was taking so long to find out what had happened. I replied to say it was all hunky dory now, no thanks to them LOL, but a big thank you to the van driver.

Today, Saturday, I've just got ANOTHER email from them, saying they're still trying to sort it out!
