The descendents are as follows:-
John Manson, Born13th Sept.,1723, Mey,Canisbay. Crofter E.Mey.Married 15th October,1748, Mey,Canisbay, to Jannet Rugg.
His son :- Alexander Manson, Born 20th Sept.,1753,Canisbay.Married 17th dec.,1771, Canisbay to Esther Harper.
His son :- George Manson, Born 14th Oct,1772, Canisbay. Married 21st June, 1800, Canisbay to Elspet Mathiesson.
His son:- Alkexander Manson, Born 23rd April,1801,Canisbay.Fisherman at 'Ditch of Mey'. Married 6th Oct., 1823, Canisbay, to Susan Ross.(in 1851 Fisherman/Crofterof 7 acres at Mey).( In 1871 a Fisherman at Barrowgill Cottage, Canisbay.)( In 1881 a retired Fisherman at Shore Lane,Wick)
His son:- John Manson, Born 13th Sept.,1831, Canisbay. Fisherman at E.Mey. Married 22nd June, 1855, Canisbay, to Helen Nicolson of Strupster.( In 1871 a Farmer of 20acres at Keiss village)
His son :- Alexander Manson, Born 2nd sept.,1856, E.MeyDied 20th, March, 1929, Myrelandhorn. A Crofter. Married 9th June1876, Keiss to Ann (Annie) Cormack of Keiss. In 1903 Annie died and he remarried 23rd March,1906, Keiss, to Elizabeth Begg. He was then a Labourer at Clayquarries, Wick.

In my extended family tree, I have a Helen Barnie Nicolson married to a John Manson in Canisbay on that date. She was a niece of my 3xgreat grandmother (Parents Alexander Nicolson and Janet Sinclair.) only got three sons and a daughter so far...............well four now with your Alexander.:)

I do have this line on my tree as I researched it for a couple of other people and I also have researched the family Thomas Farmer has referred to as both Alexander's had son's John about the same time.

I put the list of children for John and Helen for Oddquine. (we are cousins lol)

I do have some family connections to George Manson and Elspet Matheson's daughter Esther who married John Dunnet.

Her grandson John Dunnet 1865 married my 1st cousin 2X removed Annie Rosie and another grandson William Dunnet 1873 married my 1st cousin 2X removed Marjory Smith Gunn

Does any one have any imformatin on this couple and family ,all I do Know is that they had a daughter called anne in 1856 who married David Henderson in 1878
did william and johan have other children any imformation re dates be gratfully received thankyou

I believe Ann's mother Johan/Joan was the d/o of Donald Sutherland and Margaret Bain.
in 1861 Ann Mauson(sp?) age 3 and Johan age 26 were living at Heatherguay? sp? in the Parish of Wick. Margaret Sutherland age 71 is the head of the household.

You would need to look at the actual 1861 census to clarify relationships as the Ancestry trranscription is very bad. Johan is listed as Margaret's uncle lol!

In 1871 Ann Manson age 13 is living with grandmother Margaret Sutherland at Wester, Wick.

Possible birthdate for Ann is Jun 20 1857 in Kilminster.
If correct Johan’s birth was probably in 1834 and she married in 1864 to William Miller at the Manse in Wick.
