There are those for and those against. Here is a composition of two fairly normal pics I took of a daytime snowy hill and a spooky shot of mist goin over the sun (which I inverted for this purpose). A friend put them together and added the lightning, if you would like to make a comment (constructive criticism only please) I would be interested to see it. TY!

Constructive criticism.... hmmmm...

Maybe it would benefit from a little darkening. Not the lightning, but underneath it. I'm not sure, but I'd be interested to see the result.

Thinkin you have both gone for a similar look but have you darkened the sides of the sky too Sapphire?

I used a lasso tool to select a rough outline of the lightning, then I feathered the selection by about 10 pixels. Then I inverted the selection and darkened everything except the lightning. :)
