Very Large Piles of Logs ... Why?

I was travelling through Cannisbay & John O'Groats yesterday, many of the houses had very large piles of logs in their gardens, it puzzeled me, are they all going to build log cabbins, do they think we are in for a hard winter or have I missed out on a bargain log deal???

Anyone know the answer

Probably all the trees getting cut down to make way for wind turbines....

It's the third option, apparently you can buy an HGV load of logs for £500.
I don't have the phone number though.

With all the other heating alternatives going sky high every option has to be looked at.
I see quite a few places with a pile of logs ready for the winter.
Any numbers available for supply ?

Thanks for info, I will have to find £500 now ... but .... it is cheap for that amount of wood, any ideas on how to raise the £££££

if 10 folks go in together then you dont have to find a lot but will still get loads of wood

Paul Barratt does a transit flat bed full of split logs for £63 inc. VAT & delivery.

I'll ask for the number of the other guy when I see my neighbour tomorrow :D
