Finally the low cloud cleared allowing sight of the superb noctilucent cloud displays that many areas had been enjoying for the past week.

It was a beautiful sight - the best display I've seen yet.

There's a good chance they'll be visible over the next few days if you happen to be up late enough to see them.

I've now had the chance to work on the photos I took on the night and have put together one last panorama - here it is:

I wish my new DSLR had arrived a few days earlier, in time for capturing this scene on it. My 4 megapixel Olympus managed not to bad though.
