This type of hypothetical question probably has been asked before but I missed it.

The scenario is:-
I have created a simple web page.. ..
I upload this webpage to the internet via my Virginmedia broadband.. ..
I immediately turn off my computer and disconnect it from my modem.. ..
I then go to my friends and be the first person to access my new web page from his computer using BT broadband.. ..

Question is:-
Where was that web page while I was walking to my friends??

Any takers...serious answer or otherwise??

Internet carrier Gnomes store the web page in secret compartments sewn into their underpants, they then drive to your friends house in a Gnomemobile so that they are there before you and climb into his monitor, then they hold up the web page when you want to view it, seems strange you had to ask, i thought it was common knoledge :)

It is now stored in the space your ISP has allocated you on there servers.

Well, Mr Schroedinger.

If you running a server, then the page would still be on your PC and as you had unplugged it, you wouldn't be able to view the web page at your friend's house.

If you uploaded it to an ISP server (for instance) then it would be sat on a computer in an office/shed/front room/basement etc somehere else.

But I like Gizmo's answer muchy muchy better
