unleaded 114.9. Diesel 127.9

But you've got to spend £50 in Thurso or Wick Tesco, as we were doing a biggish shop, why not?

That's $8.45 a US gallon, for those of us on the far side of the pond. We're paying around $4.45 around here right now, so you're paying slightly less than double what we are. The ratio has been as high as 3.5 times in the recent past, so it may be of some consolation to you that we're catching up! Or maybe not...

Why is it that when petrol was £3.50 a gallon we never seen anything in litres .Now its over £5.00 a gallon they change to litres (must sound cheaper in litres) so thats £5.75 a gallon for diesel and where do they get the 0.9 of the penny from .. Would they given you the 0.1 of a penny back if you only wanted a litre...Some garages in Thurso don't post their prices ,its prices are only on the pump.

Talking to my sis last night, she paid £1.38 for petrol in Lancaster yesterday, so its not just up here that its expensive.

No we're not, it's 132.9 in Tesco which is cheapest in the county. Sure some one will let us know the current price in Thurso, which will be considerably more.....

That means you bought 100 litres. Not many of us need that much!
If I fill the tank on my car, I would save about £2.00. If I went to Tesco specially for the 'cheap' petrol, I would probably end up spending more than £2.00 on something I didn't need.

No I did not complain because I did not notice untill you pointed it out,
but now I have to waste my fuel to go back to Tesco's and point out there error.;)

I know it's nice to get cheaper fuel from Tesco by spending fifty quid on shopping, but I take satisfaction that the other stations don't get a penny of mine, kinda principle; was ripped off for too long (As I've mentioned before Thurso had the highest fuel prices on the British mainland a few years back - prior to 'T' coming up here..) so if it's an extra 5p off and my shopping's due; why not?

No, no, don't do that. Think of the planet. I'm sure Tesco wouldn't want you wasting that precious fuel and polluting the atmosphere at the same time.
