Well my doctor has put me on a high fibre diet due to some tummy troubles I have had. I like bran flakes so that is breakfast sorted but can anyone help me with other meals. Trouble is I am rather fussy, I don't like fancy food (or sauce...)

any help?

Lots of websites to guide you. Here are just a few, hope you find them useful.

Start by making sure you're getting your 5 a day, Fluff, and increase that a bit.

Fruit -fresh, frozen or canned - dried fruit such as raisins or apricots, veggies, wholemeal bread, wholewheat pasta, oatcakes, porridge, pulses (e.g. beans and lentils)....seeds, nuts....:)....all these are good.

Try to avoid eating too many processed foods, ready meals and 'industrial' bakery products as they're often low in fibre. Home made vegetable soups and cakes/cookies such as flapjacks can be good sources of fibre.

Probably best to change your diet gradually rather than all at once, Fluff! ;)

Lentil soup. Home made, not from a tin. Likewise split pea. Lots of fibre in baked beans for that matter. I make a seven bean chili that includes about every kind of bean I can find at the supermarket (except butter beans - I hate those!).

Switch to brown rice and wholemeal everything (bread, pasta etc). The brown rice will teach you patience though. It takes a lot longer to cook, especially the brown basmati. However it is worth it as it tastes great.

hmm i think i will go back to brown bread as i can tolerate that. I have this weird thing about rice, slimy, yuk!
I always find on these sort of thing I start out great but it is hard to keep going and to add variety. Getting a blood test on Monday though so hopefully it isn't anything too bad!
