Plans are afoot to cleaning cutbacks in schools and other council establishments. This means that the two big cleans at Easter and Summer will not now be carried out from 2009. This also means that cleaners have less hours and following that, less pay.
Should a cleaner leave the job, they may not be replaced!
This is not good for schools in general and could be a serious concern for asthmatics in the schools, remembering that this is the only times that the wall furniture gets moved for cleaning behind.
