View Full Version : Less than 10 Bananas

Read out aloud...One banana, two banana, three banana, four banana, five banana, six banana, seven banana, eight banana, nine banana, ten.

A man can run 100 metres in roughly the time it took you to read that out aloud. Amazing.

No, no, no.

Bananas are long, pineapples are sort of roundish.

But not as round as oranges, of course.

Er...but pineapples are definitely rounder than tangerines, they're sort of squashed and round. So really, on a scale of roundness oranges would be tops, pineapples next and tangerines would be in third place.

Hang on, what about satsumas?

Some people are being 'shape-ist' about fruit here, and I feel it my duty to intervene.

All shapes are lovely, especially mine. And since bananas, pineapples, oranges, and even tangerines ALL have three syllables, they are all equally fit to perform the function to which brokencross assigned them. ;)

Do they run 50 metres and get a bit of fruit at half-time?

Thanks for that succinct explanation of my intentions. Set me wondering though, as it was New York they may have been saying "One Big Apple, Two Big Apple".. just a thought.

So, you're promoting fruit over other plants, are you?

Whats wrong with - for example - potato, sycamore, capiscum, or artichoke?
Being narrow minded and pro-fruit is as bad as Fruitism in all its' ghastly forms.

Though I would like to point out that pineapples are probably much rounder than a sycamore tree or a capiscum, although oranges probably have the edge over potatoes.

The satsuma is still a puzzler.......

Well, I watched it all the way through and I couldn't hear anyone talking to anyone called 'Gusto'. I think you're making it up.

Unless he was the one holding the long fruity thing that looked like a satsuma - but wasn't a satsuma......it might have been a pineapple.

Or a potato.

What about grapefruit? Yesterday the BBC announced that a family of rare black winged stilt chicks are hatching in Britain for the first time for 20 years - they have grapefruit-shaped bodies and long legs with the ankles right at the top, also long beaks. Wish I could draw on here

Not that I've ever seen one but, sounds kinda cute.

Rare black winged stilt chicks, yes.. , long legs, yes, ..ankles at the top, yes.. .. ..Think you were telling fibs about grapefruit shape though.. .. but it certainly conjured up an interesting image in my minds eye.

Now, that's what happens when French Artistic Persons are allowed access to Opal Fruits and LSD in equal amounts.

It's almost as dodgy as Salvador Dalis 'Leek on a Bicycle' in which he depicts a large leek with one ear riding on the back of a herring. Allegedly, he was inspired by an evenings drinking of 'Old Pulteney' in the Camps bar with a mad (and deaf) Welshman.

Recently this undervalued picture was sold for £2.37 in the Huddersfield Flea Market. Experts believe that if it had been sold at Christies, it's true value would have been around £3.50.

I heard this from one of the drivers in the Indy 500 a few years ago. "You know when you sneeze, first there's the "aaaah", then there's the "choo" and then that short spell until your vision is clear again while you blink a couple of times? Well in the time it takes to do all that, I've traveled the length of two football fields."

What the hell does he think he's doing driving an Indy 500 car across bloody football fields? Doesn't he know that could be dangerous?

Mind you, I'd pay good money to see some of the prancing Prima Donnas in prefeshnul fitba' mown down by a car doing nearly 200mph.
There'd be no pretending to be injured there......

"Ref! Ref! I've just had me legs ripped off by that car! Owwwww...."

"Gerrup, yer cissy or I'll yellow card you!"
