Thrushes are very rare here in the south and wondered if they are still thriving in the north? The picture quality is not good as the bird was very shy.

tends to be a bird thats heard rather than seen lizzz, the majority that get seen are usually mistle thrushes which tend to be a bit bolder. I know we have a few pairs around near me so the still seem to be holding their own up here in wick.:D

I had a couple in my garden earlier in the week, Lizz, I wondered if they were trying to woo each other with their odd behaviour . Tried to video it, but the angle was too tight, so only caught the one bird.

I don't usually see many here though, mainly just one at a time pottering around, more often than not either first thing in the morning, or later in the evening when most of the birdies have settled for the night. And they never go for the soft fruits or seeds, they seem happy enough with the worms and beasties in the grass. :)
