Solar Hot Water Heating?

Hi

Just wondering if anyone up here has had Solar hot water heating installed?

Is it worth it do we get enough sun up here to make it an cost effective solution?

I don't but a neighbour has - I'm not sure if it is worth it as it takes years to recoup the cost of installation.

The type which my neighbour has works even on cloudy days as it is not reliant on actual direct sunlight to work.

All the green energy type of devices are expensive to buy and take a long time to pay for themselves so unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket and you want to reduce your carbon welly print then I'd say go for better insulation to help save energy.
