Don't know anyone can help me but when I was a small kid, many moons ago (not saying how many!) I had this stupid bird ornament thing that swung backwards and forwards getting lower each time until eventually dipping its head in a bowl of water as if taking a drink. Then it would start again. What the hell was it called, does anyone remember them. If could have been some kind or ostrich or emu looking bird but I can't honestly remember. I have been trying to explain it to my son, who know thinks I have really landed from the planet Zog!

Any ideas anyone?

Unicorn, that is very very similar to what I had except the bird was seperate from the glass! Well done for finding that though at least now my son might start believing me.

Or possibly this type of thing (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HAPPY-DRINKING-BIRD-50s-60s-U-K_W0QQitemZ170220116557QQihZ007QQcategoryZ30QQssPa geNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) on Ebay - just search for 'drinking bird' - they also go under the name 'dippy bird'

Many thanks to you all for your comments, especially Yoda The Flump, Venture and Bobinovich. I can now sleep easy tonight knowing that this little bird was not a figment of my imagination! Gonna buy one off ebay for my son, that should finally shut him up!! LOL

Cheers

Trying to think if there is any other odd gadget/games from days gone by!

My great aunty had one, its about all I remember about her. It sat on her kitchen window, was ugly, orange and annoying. So being very little I sat mesmerised watching it.

I certainly woudn't give this to ANYONE. The methylene chloride in it is extremely dangerous. If inhaled it can knock you out and because it settles at ground level you inhale more then it KILLS you.

It says in the blurb that it takes the caffeine out of coffee. We use it at work to strip bitumen off of stone from our asphalt samples.

And they call this a TOY!
