I wanted to ask about quail eggs, as my O/H loves trying different foods

I bought him some duck eggs the other day and he said they were lovely, he has had them before like, but not often as i can't face trying them

But i travelled to Lybster the other day and i saw a sign at a house saying "Quail eggs" for sale £1.50 a dozen

I asked him if he has ever had a quail egg and he said no, so i would like to buy some

Has anyone eaten them and what r they like?

How do u cook them? same ways as a chicken egg?

They can't b very big, well not as big as a chicken or a duck egg,i wouldn't think :confused

Any info would b great

Cheers

Lindsay

They taste like chicken eggs but a little bit richer, maybe a higher yolk to white ratio.

Cook them the same way, they are a little bit fiddly to peel but overall I think they are worth it.

I asked where I could buy them locally in this thread (http://forum.caithness.org/showthread.php?t=45044&highlight=quail)

Hope that helps.
