Feel awful putting a thread under 'Pets' that's about pigs for food but I didn't know where else to put it!

I was just wondering where a person goes about getting their pigs slaughtered and butchered up here? We're thinking about getting some pigs but want to know exactly what the procedure is first. Once they're at the slaughter house (is there one in Caithness) how do they get to a butcher for carving?
Is there anyone in Caithness that slaughters and butchers at a price? Or for the carcass of a pig?

Also what breed is best for the freezer but also clears land well? I've heard Tamworth are a good bet??

Cheers

Paul at Quintfall Lodge, Lyth keeps pigs. He's quite a mine of information, you'll find his number on the org somewhere as he sells logs (ecoheat).
I think he keeps tamworth old spots and he definitely breeds them and sells piglets. Don't know how much help he'd be on the slaughtering side though as I think he slaughters his own.

There is a slaughterhouse in wick that will do the whole procedure i think.
J W Sutherland runs it i am sure.
