Big Owl

My wife and I had our first visit to Dunnet Forrest today and spent about 2 hours walking in the woods.
As we were walking along I was startled by a carving of an Owl and my wife who was walking a few yards behind me said "whats the matter".
I said "that Owl statled me " and when she looked she almost jumped out of her skin as well.
Are we the only people to be frightened by a lump of wood?
Very nice place to visit and although there were other cars on the car park we never saw another person.

What a lovely carving of a Barn Owl and with the way the light was striking it in your picture it almost looks like the realistic plumage colours must go take a look next time we are in the area.

I see the cheeky chappie was winking at you, lol, Kevin! I've seen photos on the Org of some brightly coloured wooden totem poles, before. Not sure if those were in Dunnet Forrest as well, but I'm sure someone will post here and set the record straight. :)
