I'm just putting a page together on my website about the Italian Chapel (ok i know it's not in caithness but it's history is brill when you read it) and i was wondering if any of our orcadian friends on here have any old pictures of camp 60, the chapel itself or any of the trinkets the P.O.W's used to make and sell locally? I know it's a long shot but would like to include an older pic or two on the page. Photo will be credited to actual photographer or family :)

hope someone can help

I think I read somewhere that you can now get married at the Italian Chapel, is that true?

I have visited the Italian chapel, the bus stopped and everybody was asked to get off for 10 minutes.I lit up a fag, amidst the flash of photography from tourists.I never took a photo. To me,its not an Edinburgh castle.

I have some pictures of the chapel when himself and I went there last year if you would like them. I was very surprised that it was open and we could just walk in.

Tried a quick search in the photo section of the Orkney Communities (http://forum.caithness.org/go.php?url=http://forum.caithness.org/go.php?url=http://forum.caithness.org/go.php?url=http://www.orkneycommunities.co.uk) website, but it is all quite recent photos, nice aerial shot from a kite cam though.

Tugs, I have the booklet on the chapel too somewhere, will try and find it for you, it has some of the pics from the war in it. Also took some pictures of a carved boss and a painting of the madonna that were displayed inside. Hope to see you soon.
