I must admit, I've only just developed a real interest in the birdies :)
I think these are fulmars, but I'm not 100% sure. I definitely saw a puffin at Duncansby though, no mistaking that, but I couldn't get a picture of it. Just a blurry image of something with orange legs. Anyway are these fulmars? or something else?

At Duncansby you will find lots of Fulmars (protrution on top of beak)
Kittiwakes (slim yellow beak with Black legs)
Shags, look black with head crest, nest on low ledges.
Gillemots Black and white with long beaks nest on middle ledges.
Razorbills Black and white with stubby looking beak also nest on middle height ledges.
Great blackback Gulls nest on top of stacks.
Puffins they usually nest quite high.
Herring Gulls red legs
Rock Doves, feral pigeons

These are the main birds that nest there, I hope those basic discription helps with identification.

Yep - definitely Fulmars. They are a joy to watch soaring on the breeze blowing onto the cliffs - I used to sit up at Holborn Head and watch them for hours.
