Have you tried trapping her? Years ago we had a siamese cat go missing and my grandad made a humane trap baited with chicken and sure enough 2 days later we had caught him.

Don't want to try trapping her as I'm sure she has had kittens and she would be away maybe too long from the kittens if I were to trap her. I am assured that she will be close by, but we have searched everywhere and being a cat that is either in the house or out in the run she won't have any scent to follow to come home. We have tried leaving the run open and leaving tuna and dried food out but so far it has only attracted the strays which is what I don't want. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for everyone's replies.

Cats in kitten usually look for somewhere sheltered and warm, of their own choosing, our cat always found her way into the cupboard above the airing cupboard (never figured out how she got up there), although she chose to kitten behind the sofa in the front room. If as you say she is due to drop her kindle she will come back of her own accord, with kittens in tow lol, hope you find her soon.

She had strayed about 400yds from home, across the main A99!!!! and was found in a garden this afternoon along with 4 kittens. I think she had been in the shed at the back and the lady left food out for cats and today I think the kittens would be about 3-4 days old and that is about when they decide to move them. Shall post photos on here possibly tomorrow to let you all see my beautiful babies. Thank you all and I'm pleased to have a happy ending.
