I was brought up in Ducksiein the 1940's and we used to sing about the Ducksie Rangers but my memory fails me. I have a feeling it went somethig like :
We are the gang ,the Ducksie Gang and we fear no dangers ----W e are the Ducksie Rangers
Will check with my brother and see if he can recall the words. Do not hold your breath waiting

I am going back before the Council houses were built in Grant Street

You might be better getting in touch with somebody like Iain Sutherland. He might know or would put you in touch with somebody else.

Hallo Domino,

If you try the Wick Heritage centre - there's someone working there who was in Grant Street in the 1940s too !

Good Luck - and do let us have the words for the song when you get them !!

As far as I can gather the words were:-

"we are the gang,
the Ducksie gang,
the gang that fears no dangers
for we are the gang,
the Ducksie gang
we are the Ducksie rangers"

A Ducksie Ranger from many, many years ago

Well done Domino, Now you can sleep at night in the knowledge that you found the worlds for your song, and we can all join in.

You are the gang
The lads who sang
'Boot the dear ould Ducksie Rangers
So get stuck in
An' play till win
Tae us, ye ne'er were strangers !!
