architects

i am looking to employ an architect for an extension to my cottage. can anyone recommend one and what time frame from measuring up to plans in my hand am i looking at.

with my recent experience of architects i would expect a long long time. and what they do tell you regarding how long for plans etc, times it by 3 at least.

I used John Linklater, he was excellent,and great value for money, nothing was too much bother for him, even when we changed the house layout.
from start to finish, the drawings took just over a week. would thoroughly recommend him to anyone.
