Just wondering what people think as there have been to stories in the news about the leniancy of judges sentences...One crime is involving guns and the other was a judge who was lenient on sex offences....Should sentencing be put to independent judges or should the presiding judge have all the say....It seems to me that leniant judges are being critisized so obviously things are going awry....

Then you have judges who say that Murders are spending to long in jail....

I agree the jails are full, but when are we to realise that some crimes are worth the time spent behind bars and its not the judges place to give leniant sentences just because a jail is full...Do the crime, do the time, the motto still stands fair.
or is it do the crime, well decide what you will do...
