I hate to admit it but i have lived here for over a year now and i still haven't been to Dunnet forest. Was thinking about taking the kids to the easter egg hunt tomorow but wondered if it was suitable to take a wee one in a pram (paths etc)

The Forest is accessible to everyone, go along and enjoy it. Probably the best outdoor family place to go in Caithness in this weather.

There are walks suitable for pushchairs, follow the all abilities trail http://www.dunnetforest.org/images/dftforestmap.jpg. It is also very sheltered once you get `inside`, don`t let the weather stop you.

Never mind the map, just follow your nose! You can't get lost, and it is a lovely place. Have a good day Scallywags!

we were at dunnet forest last tuesday night on a night walk with the ranger (mary legg), we went with Thurso St Andrews badgers and cadets, i voluntered to go along and help and i must say what fun i had, all the kids had a great time apart from a few who moaned about the cold(due to lack of clothing) but the rest of us had a great time, i would recommend it to anyone.

No wonder! We went up there and the weather was terrible, surprised how many cars were actually there though.
