Markings on Thurso Beach Rocks - is it fossilised plants?

Spotted these markings on rocks near Thurso river mouth at low tide this afternoon. Anyone know what they are?

Possible fossilised seaweed?

Hmm, yes it does look plant like and being at the mouth of the river it could have come down with the flow or caught up in the ice flow etc
